THE ENGLISH COMM DILEMMA: UNDERSTANDING BLDT PART 1

SALAM AND GREETINGS BL PRACTITIONERS,

There was confusion with the use of BLDT especially with courses that consists of Tutorials, instead of Practicals. Some of the courses especially with 15L and 30T cannot be Blended due to the small dependent lecture hours. There is a way to work this out.

First, please remember that these components (Tutorials and Practical) are in essence Face 2 Face and can be considered as Collaborative Classroom (CC).

Secondly, NOT all CC components hours must be filled in the BLDT.

e.g. lets take ENGLISH COMM DUE XXXX (15L 30T):

Notice we can have the CC Required component adjusted to zero. In this case it is acceptable because this course still has a 30 hour tutorial and hence the CC component is still being delivered.

Hence when using the BLDT, we have to be careful and try to SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE. BLDT is just a tool to organize your Blended Learning components.

Hope this helps,

Dr.N
